Bike or tram to get to campus from La Doua?
For schools on the La Doua campus (INSA, CPE, Polytech, IUT, Lyon 1 Sciences), the bike beats the tram: 5–8 minutes vs 10–15 with waiting time. The T1 or T4 tram is still useful in bad weather or for Rockefeller (Lyon 1 health), which sits 4 km to the south.
How close to INSA can I find a studio under €600?
Roughly 5 minutes by bike from Les Tamaris residence in Villeurbanne for furnished studios at €555–600 incl. charges. Studios under €580 are the first to go: secure yours in April–May for the September intake.
Does the T1 or T4 tram run near the Les Tamaris residence?
Yes. The 'Croix-Luizet' stop on both T1 and T4 is 4 minutes on foot. T1 serves the entire La Doua campus then continues to Part-Dieu; T4 reaches Manufacture des Tabacs.
